Apple Announces Next Generation MacBook Pro

Apple just announced their next generation MacBook Pro and needless to say…this beast does not disappoint! The MacBook Pro comes equipped with a 2880 x 1800 15.4 inch Retina display, which equals a pixel density of about 264 ppi. Although this pixel density falls just shy of the 326 ppi on the iPhone 4S, Apple was quick to point out that this notebook boasts the “world’s highest resolution notebook display.” Here’s a fun fact for you…the MacBook Pro has 3 million more pixels that a 1080p HDTV. The new display should also boast higher contrast ratios, wider viewing angles and less glare than its predecessors. The stock Mac OS apps (Mail, safari, iMovie, iPhoto and Final Cut Pro) have all been updated to take advantage of the new display.

The notebook is 0.71 inches thick  and weighs less than 4.5 pounds. The power behind this notebook is a 2.7 GHz, quad core Intel Core i7  processor with Turbo Boost up to 3.7 GHz. It will also sports 16 GB of memory, 768 GB of flash storage and 7 hours of battery life. In terms of connectivity, the MacBook Pro  has an SD slot, HDMI port, two Thunderbolt ports, headphone jack and two USB 2.0 & 3.0 ports.

The new MacBook Pro is available today at a starting price of $2,199 for 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of flash storage
