Apple Unveils Maps App

The mounting speculation on whether Apple would actually  give Google Maps the boot in favor of its own Mapping service were all put to rest when Apple announced its new Mapping service specific to iOS. The Map service provides turn by turn navigation with the maps displayed in 3D. Yelp has also been integrated into this new service so users have access to over 100 million business listings. The new and improved Siri can also be utilized by the new Map app. Maps will ship with iOS 6 later in fall.

It’ll be interesting to see how this new app compares with Google’s map app…you can be sure that we will be covering that once both are available.
