Tribute To The Most Indestructible Phone Ever

We’ve all had that one phone that just refused to die. No matter how many times it was dropped, thrown (hopefully this wasn’t the case) or stepped on, all you had to do was pop the battery back in and the device worked like nothing had happened.

My most resilient and indestructible phone was the Nokia 3220. I used this in 2005 and it was my first phone with a color screen. This phone had interchangeable faceplates and allowed users to create their own rear faceplate designs using a stencil that was provided with the phone. Its most distinguishing feature was the flashing lights on each side of the phone. These lights blinked upon receipt of phone calls and text messages and to this day, I refer to this phone as the Nokia with the lights.

This is the most indestructible phone I’ve ever had because it was run over by a car and still continued to work as expected. The phone broke into several pieces when it was run over but after snapping the well-constructed plastic pieces back together, saying a prayer, and turning the phone on, I was greeted with the familiar Nokia tune and was immediately able to send texts and makes calls as if nothing had happened. This is just one example of this phone’s resilience but I kid you not when I say this phone survived at all.

If I had children, this would be the phone I’d give them…yes they would probably hate me but they would have a phone that could survive almost anything.

What is the most resilient/ indestructible phone you have ever had? Do you have any interesting quick stories about it? Let us know in the comments section below.

The Nokia 3220 is definitely the most indestructible phone I have ever owned. I used to not take care of my phones, and it survived everything, including a second floor drop. It was perfect for enduring my senior year of high school in 2006.
